Sourcing tips

Short rules that save money and time.

Get samples first

Approve a sample before any bulk order, and keep the approved sample as the reference.

Write down the specification

Material, size, colour, packaging and labelling. Agree it in writing before production starts.

Inspect before shipping

A pre-shipment check costs far less than a rejected container.

Agree the trade terms

Be clear about who pays for freight, insurance and customs, and use standard Incoterms.

Order before the holidays

Place orders early ahead of Chinese New Year and National Day.
